ICICI Bank Sapphiro Credit Card Review 2026: Lounge Access, Golf, Milestone Rewards, Fees & FAQs
ICICI Bank Sapphiro Credit Card review 2026 — ₹6,500 joining fee, ₹14,595 welcome vouchers, 4 domestic lounge visits per quarter, 4 golf rounds monthly, milestone reward points, plus full fees, caps and eligibility details.
The ICICI Bank Sapphiro Credit Card is a premium lifestyle card built around access rather than rate. Its base earning of 2 reward points per ₹100 is modest, but the card bundles a large welcome voucher pack, quarterly airport lounge access, monthly golf rounds and a milestone programme worth up to ₹5,000 a year. Whether it earns its ₹3,500 renewal fee depends almost entirely on how many of those benefits you actually use.
ICICI Bank Sapphiro Credit Card Quick Overview

| Base reward | 2 reward points per ₹100 on domestic spends (0.5% value) |
| Reward type | ICICI Bank Reward Points (1 RP = ₹0.25) |
| Welcome benefit | Vouchers with a face value of ₹14,595 (marketed as "over ₹13,000") |
| Lounge | 4 domestic visits per quarter; 2 international visits per year |
Eligibility Criteria
- Indian citizen, aged 21 to 65 years
- Salaried applicants: minimum monthly income of ₹75,000
- Self-employed applicants: minimum annual income of ₹9,00,000
- Documents required: proof of identity, proof of address and income proof — no physical documents needed
Welcome Benefit
Once the joining fee is paid, ICICI Bank issues a voucher bundle within 45 days, claimable from the Rewards section of iMobile Pay or Internet Banking under the "Sapphiro Welcome Benefit" tab. The five components carry a combined face value of ₹14,595:
| Voucher | Face value | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Tata CLiQ | ₹3,000 | Credited as CLiQ Cash to your Tata CLiQ account |
| EaseMyTrip | ₹4,000 | 4 vouchers of ₹1,000, single-use each, domestic flights only |
| Da Milano | ₹5,000 | Valid only on a purchase of ₹19,999 or above, one code per bill |
| Croma | ₹1,500 | 3 vouchers of ₹500, each valid on a purchase of ₹5,000 or above |
| EazyDiner Prime | ₹1,095 | 3-month membership; not valid for existing Prime members |
Read the conditions carefully before treating this as ₹14,595 of value. Only the Tata CLiQ voucher behaves like cash. The Da Milano coupon needs a ₹19,999 spend at a store you may never visit, and each Croma voucher needs a ₹5,000 purchase to unlock ₹500.
Reward Structure: How You Earn
Earning is flat rather than category-driven:
| Spend type | Reward points | Value at ₹0.25 per point |
|---|---|---|
| International spends | 4 RP per ₹100 | 1.00% |
| Domestic spends | 2 RP per ₹100 | 0.50% |
| Utility and insurance spends | 1 RP per ₹100 | 0.25% |
The international rate looks attractive until you account for the 3.5% forex mark-up, which more than cancels out the 1% earn. Treat this as a domestic card.
Monthly earning caps you should know
Since 15 November 2024, ICICI Bank caps how much spend in certain categories can earn points each statement cycle. These are caps on the spend, not on the points, and once you cross them the remaining spend in that category earns nothing for the rest of the cycle.
| Category | Spend cap per statement cycle | Effective on |
|---|---|---|
| Utility (includes government payments) | ₹80,000 | 15 Nov 2024 |
| Insurance | ₹80,000 | 15 Nov 2024 |
| Grocery and departmental stores | ₹40,000 | 15 Nov 2024 |
| Transportation | ₹20,000 | 1 Feb 2026 |
Illustrative earning example
The uploaded terms do not include a worked rewards example, so the following is an illustration built on the published rates. These figures are indicative only.
A cardholder spending ₹6,00,000 across an anniversary year:
| Category | Annual spend | Rate | Points earned |
|---|---|---|---|
| General retail, dining, travel, online | ₹3,60,000 | 2 RP / ₹100 | 7,200 RP |
| Groceries (₹10,000 a month, within cap) | ₹1,20,000 | 2 RP / ₹100 | 2,400 RP |
| Utilities (₹5,000 a month) | ₹60,000 | 1 RP / ₹100 | 600 RP |
| Insurance premiums | ₹36,000 | 1 RP / ₹100 | 360 RP |
| Fuel | ₹24,000 | Nil | 0 RP |
| **Spend-based subtotal** | **₹6,00,000** | **10,560 RP** | |
| Milestone rewards (₹4L + ₹5L + ₹6L slabs) | 8,000 RP | ||
| **Total** | **18,560 RP ≈ ₹4,640** |
That works out to an effective return of roughly 0.77%, and at ₹6,00,000 the ₹3,500 + GST renewal fee is also reversed. Each redemption request carries a ₹99 handling fee, so consolidate redemptions rather than cashing out in small batches.
Milestone Benefits
- 4,000 reward points on reaching ₹4,00,000 of eligible spend in an anniversary year
- 2,000 reward points for every additional ₹1,00,000 of spend thereafter
- Capped at 20,000 reward points (₹5,000) per anniversary year, reached at ₹12,00,000 of spend
Categories that do not count towards milestone spend or the annual fee waiver: rent, government payments and education payments, along with EMI transactions, joining and annual fees, late payment fees, interest charges, DCC fees, reward redemption handling fees, credit balance refunds and reversed or cancelled transactions.

Is the ICICI Bank Sapphiro Credit Card Worth It?
The Sapphiro suits a specific profile: someone who flies domestically often enough to use 16 lounge visits a year, plays golf, watches films monthly, and spends comfortably past ₹6 lakh so the renewal fee disappears. For that person the benefit stack is genuinely strong, and the milestone programme adds a further ₹5,000 at ₹12 lakh of spend.
It suits almost no one else. At 0.5% on domestic spends the base rate trails most mid-tier cards costing a tenth as much, the reward-earning caps on groceries, utilities and transportation have tightened steadily since November 2024, and the 3.5% forex mark-up rules out the card's own headline international rate. If you cannot clear ₹6 lakh a year, the ₹3,500 + GST renewal fee will exceed what most cardholders earn back in points. The card also frequently circulates as a lifetime-free offer through pre-approved and alumni channels — on those terms the calculation looks very different.
