AURA is a wellness card, not a rewards card. At ₹749 it earns 0.2%, and its value is entirely in bundled health benefits.

The earn rate is low and stating it plainly is the honest starting point: at 0.2%, ₹1 lakh of spending returns ₹200.

Reward Structure: How You Earn

EDGE Reward Points are worth ₹0.20 on the Gift EDGE portal — Axis states the rate directly. Every percentage here is stated after that conversion, which is why the point counts look larger than the returns.

2 EDGE Reward Points per ₹200 on all eligible spends — 0.2%.

Axis changed this card on 28 August 2026. Gift-card purchases and toll, bridge and road fees stopped earning rewards and stopped counting toward milestones and the annual fee waiver.

Everything else0.2%

5X EDGE Rewards on insurance is unusual and worth noting — most of the Axis range excludes insurance from earning altogether. Axis publishes a maximum transaction value for the band that the captured sources cut off, so no cap is recorded here. Verify it before planning around it.

The health benefits carry no rupee value in any structured comparison — complimentary doctor consultations, health checks and fitness sessions do not reduce to a percentage, so they are invisible in a ranking that looks only at earn rates.

Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn

  • Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; rent (MCC 6513); wallet loads (MCC 6540); government institution transactions (MCC 9222, 9311, 9399, 9402); cash withdrawals; EMI conversions; gift card purchases and toll, bridge and road fees (both excluded w.e.f. 28 August 2026); and fees, charges, GST and reversals. Insurance, utilities, telecom, education and jewellery are excluded on some cards only — the per-card notes say which.
  • Point expiry: EDGE Reward Points and EDGE Miles expire 36 months from the date of accrual unless the card's own terms say otherwise. Points are forfeited if the card is closed, and a NEGATIVE point balance at closure is converted to a statement debit the cardholder must pay.
  • Redemption fee: ₹199 per redemption.

Is the Axis Bank AURA Credit Card Worth It?

The arithmetic is simple: would you pay ₹749 for the health bundle? Up to four free doctor consultations a month, health checks and fitness sessions. If you would use them, the card pays for itself and the 0.2% is incidental. If you would not, there is nothing here.

The insurance band is the one genuine reward feature, because insurance premiums are large and most cards pay nothing on them.

No annual fee waiver is published for this card, so treat the fee as a fixed annual cost.

Gift cards and tolls stopped earning on 28 August 2026 — a small change on a card at this rate, but it also removes them from any fee-waiver calculation.
