Axis Bank HORIZON Credit Card Review 2026: 5 EDGE Miles on Travel EDGE, No Redemption Fee & FAQs
Axis HORIZON charges ₹3,000 and earns 5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on Travel EDGE bookings and 2 elsewhere, at a published ₹1 a mile. The ₹199 redemption fee is waived. Fees, caps and FAQs.
HORIZON is the quiet one in the Axis travel range: ₹3,000 for a 2% base rate in a currency worth a published ₹1, 5% on Travel EDGE bookings, and — unusually — no ₹199 redemption or transfer fee.
That last point matters more than it sounds on a card whose entire value is realised by redeeming miles.

Reward Structure: How You Earn
HORIZON earns EDGE Miles at a published ₹1 each on direct redemption through Travel EDGE.
5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on flights and hotels booked through Travel EDGE — 5%. 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on everything else — 2%.
| Spend | Effective rate |
|---|---|
| Flights and hotels booked through Travel EDGE | **5.0%** |
| Everything else | 2.0% |
| Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government, gaming | **0%** |
The 5X rate is tied to Axis's own portal, not to travel merchants generally. Book the same flight directly with the airline and you earn the 2-mile base rate. That is a booking-channel condition, and it means the headline only applies if you are willing to use Travel EDGE's prices and availability.
The ₹199 redemption and transfer fee is waived on this card. Axis names HORIZON in the exempt list alongside Burgundy Private, IndianOil Axis Premium, REWARDS and Cashback. On a card built around redeeming miles, paying ₹199 each time you do so is a real drag — and here you do not.
Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn
- Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; rent (MCC 6513); wallet loads (MCC 6540); government institution transactions (MCC 9222, 9311, 9399, 9402); cash withdrawals; EMI conversions; gift card purchases and toll, bridge and road fees (both excluded w.e.f. 28 August 2026); and fees, charges, GST and reversals. Insurance, utilities, telecom, education and jewellery are excluded on some cards only — the per-card notes say which.
- Point expiry: EDGE Reward Points and EDGE Miles expire 36 months from the date of accrual unless the card's own terms say otherwise. Points are forfeited if the card is closed, and a NEGATIVE point balance at closure is converted to a statement debit the cardholder must pay.

Is the Axis Bank HORIZON Credit Card Worth It?
At ₹3,000 for a genuine 2% base, HORIZON is the best-value card in the Axis travel range for anyone who does not spend enough to reach Atlas's tier thresholds.
Against Atlas at ₹5,000: Atlas earns 5% on all travel merchants, HORIZON only on Travel EDGE bookings. Atlas has the tier system and a bigger lounge allowance. HORIZON has the redemption-fee waiver and costs ₹2,000 less. Below ₹7.5 lakh of annual spend, where Atlas's tiers never activate, HORIZON is the better card.
There is no fee waiver, so the ₹3,000 recurs every year.
8 domestic lounge visits a year and 2 international per quarter is a solid allowance at this fee.
