The caps that actually bind
Headline rates mean little until you know where they stop. These are the limits on this card:
| Cap | Limit |
|---|---|
| Samsung | 5,000 points per calendar month |
The annual cap binds before the monthly one, and by a wide margin. Samsung cashback is capped at ₹5,000 a month and ₹20,000 a year. At the monthly maximum the yearly ceiling is reached in 4 months, after which the accelerated band pays nothing for the rest of the year.
Anyone reading only the monthly figure will overstate this card by a factor of 3.0.
Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn
- Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; rent (MCC 6513); wallet loads (MCC 6540); government institution transactions (MCC 9222, 9311, 9399, 9402); cash withdrawals; EMI conversions; gift card purchases and toll, bridge and road fees (both excluded w.e.f. 28 August 2026); and fees, charges, GST and reversals. Insurance, utilities, telecom, education and jewellery are excluded on some cards only — the per-card notes say which.
- Point expiry: EDGE Reward Points and EDGE Miles expire 36 months from the date of accrual unless the card's own terms say otherwise. Points are forfeited if the card is closed, and a NEGATIVE point balance at closure is converted to a statement debit the cardholder must pay.
- Redemption fee: ₹199 per redemption.
- Samsung cap: ₹5,000 of Samsung cashback a month and ₹20,000 a year. The ANNUAL ceiling is the tighter constraint: at ₹5,000 a month it is reached in 4 months, after which nothing more accrues that year.

Is the Samsung Axis Bank Infinite Credit Card Worth It?
Buy a Samsung flagship and a tablet in the same year and you will hit the ₹20,000 ceiling, after which the card earns 1% like any other.
**At ₹5,000 waived at ₹700,000, the fee is substantial and needs the full annual cap to justify itself.
International spends earn the accelerated rate too on the Infinite variant, which is unusual — though no structured comparison can model 'international' as a category, so expect tools to understate it.
Lounge access: 6 complimentary international lounge visits a year through priority pass.
