Diners Club Rewardz is the entry point to HDFC's Diners Club range, earning 3 Reward Points per ₹150 at ₹0.30 a point — 0.6%.

That is a modest rate, and the card's more interesting feature is its AirMile conversion: 1 Reward Point converts to 0.30 AirMile, which is a different currency from rupees and may be worth more or less depending entirely on how you fly.

Reward Structure: How You Earn

The card earns 3 Reward Points per ₹150 — 0.6% at the ₹0.30 rupee redemption rate.

Reward Points also convert to AirMiles at 1 point = 0.30 AirMile. An air mile is not a rupee and this dataset does not value it as one. For a frequent flyer redeeming at good value, the mile channel can beat 0.6%; for anyone else it is worse.

This card's earning block is unverified. HDFC moved most reward cards from ₹150 to ₹200 blocks on 15 May 2026, and Diners Club Rewardz appears on neither the changed list nor the unchanged list. The ₹150 basis here is carried forward from earlier sources. If this card also moved to ₹200, its real rate is 0.45%, not 0.6%. Confirm with HDFC before relying on the figure.

Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn

  • Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; EasyEMI and e-wallet loading; rent, property management, maintenance and packers-and-movers; government transactions; education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, Cheq or MobiKwik (paying a college or school directly still earns); and online skill-based gaming. Points are also REVERSED if a retail transaction is later converted to SmartEMI.
  • Point expiry: Reward Points are valid for 24 months from accrual and lapse thereafter — HDFC states 'Unredeemed Reward Points will expire/lapse after 2 years of accumulation'.
  • Redemption fee: ₹99 per redemption.

Is the HDFC Bank Diners Club Rewardz Credit Card Worth It?

At 0.6% this is a weak rewards card, and the honest reason to hold it is access to the Diners range rather than the returns.

The AirMile channel is the one genuinely interesting feature, and it is impossible to value generically. 0.30 AirMile per point is a poor ratio compared with INFINIA's 1:1, but if you redeem miles well it can still beat a ₹0.30 rupee redemption.

Diners acceptance costs you more on an entry card than a premium one, because you have no premium companion card to fall back on.

Fair Usage caps earning at 15,000 Reward Points per statement cycle — the entry-tier ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Diners Club Rewardz earn rate? 3 Reward Points per ₹150, which is 0.6% at the ₹0.30 rupee redemption rate. Note the ₹150 block is unverified after HDFC's May 2026 changes.

Did this card move to ₹200 earning blocks? Unknown. HDFC's 15 May 2026 mailer names neither this card as changed nor as unchanged. If it did move, the real rate is 0.45%.

What is the AirMile conversion? 1 Reward Point converts to 0.30 AirMile. That is a ratio, not a rupee value — what a mile is worth depends on the airline, route and award availability.

How much can I earn per cycle? Fair Usage caps this card at 15,000 Reward Points earned per statement cycle.

What does it not earn on? Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government payments, third-party education apps and online gaming earn nothing, and points are reversed if a purchase is later converted to SmartEMI.
