Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Card Review 2026: 5% NeuCoins, 1.5% Base & FAQs
Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card earns 1.5% NeuCoins on everything, 5% across Tata brands and up to 10% on the Tata Neu app, plus 1.5% on UPI. NeuCoins spend only at Tata. Fees and FAQs.
The Tata Neu Infinity card earns NeuCoins at 1.5% on general spending — a strong base — rising to 5% across Tata brands and up to 10% in selected categories on the Tata Neu app.
One fact governs everything: a NeuCoin spends only inside the Tata ecosystem. There is no statement credit and no cash-out. If you do not shop at Croma, BigBasket, Westside, Tata CLiQ, Air India, Tata 1mg or IHCL hotels, the rates below are worth nothing to you.
Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card Quick Overview

Reward Structure: How You Earn
The card earns NeuCoins, which Tata values at ₹1 each inside its ecosystem.
Up to 10% in selected categories on the Tata Neu app. 5% across Tata Neu and partner Tata brands, non-EMI. 1.5% on everything else and 1.5% on UPI spends via the RuPay variant.
This card was unaffected by HDFC's 15 May 2026 rate change, which applied to the Reward Point cards only. The cashback and co-brand cards were left alone.
| Spend | Effective rate |
|---|---|
| Selected categories on the Tata Neu app or website | **10.0%** |
| Tata Neu and partner Tata brands, non-EMI | **5.0%** |
| UPI spends | **1.5%** |
| Everything else | 1.5% |
| Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government, gaming | **0%** |
The ₹1 NeuCoin valuation is Tata's, and it holds only inside Tata's own stores. That is a real constraint, not a technicality: a rupee of statement credit can be spent anywhere, a NeuCoin cannot.
NeuCoins expire 12 months from accrual under Tata Neu's terms — shorter than HDFC's own two-year point expiry.
Worked example
₹50,000 a month in a Tata-heavy household.
| Category | Monthly spend | Rate | NeuCoins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tata Neu app, selected categories | ₹8,000 | 10% | 800 |
| BigBasket, Croma, Westside, Tata CLiQ | ₹20,000 | 5% | 1,000 |
| Everything else | ₹20,000 | 1.5% | 300 |
| Fuel | ₹2,000 | 0% | 0 |
| **Monthly total** | **₹50,000** | **2,100 NeuCoins** |
That is ₹2,100 a month of Tata-store credit — ₹25,200 a year against a ₹1,499 fee. Strong, provided you would have spent ₹28,000 a month at Tata brands anyway.
Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn
- Where you earn nothing: Earns nothing at all: fuel; EasyEMI and e-wallet loading; rent, property management, maintenance and packers-and-movers; government transactions; education paid through third-party apps such as CRED, Cheq or MobiKwik (paying a college or school directly still earns); and online skill-based gaming. Points are also REVERSED if a retail transaction is later converted to SmartEMI.
- Point expiry: Reward Points are valid for 24 months from accrual and lapse thereafter — HDFC states 'Unredeemed Reward Points will expire/lapse after 2 years of accumulation'.
- Redemption fee: ₹99 per redemption.

Is the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card Worth It?
For a genuine Tata household this is one of the best cards in India. 1.5% base plus 5% across a brand family covering groceries, electronics, clothing, pharmacy and flights is a serious proposition, and there is no fee waiver to chase because the ₹1,499 buys benefits directly.
For anyone else it is a poor choice, and the 1.5% base is misleading in isolation — it is 1.5% in NeuCoins, not 1.5% in money.
The honest test: add up what you spent at Croma, BigBasket, Westside, Tata CLiQ, Tata 1mg and Air India last year. If it is under ₹1 lakh, the card does not repay the fee.
Two domestic lounge visits a quarter and a 1.5% UPI rate on the RuPay variant round it out.
Fair Usage caps earning at 50,000 NeuCoins per statement cycle.
