IndusInd Bank Tiger Credit Card Review 2026: Lifetime Free, Spend-Tiered Rewards, Lounge & Golf, Fee
A detailed 2026 review of the IndusInd Bank Tiger Credit Card — a lifetime free co-branded Visa with a 1X–6X anniversary-year reward multiplier, 1.5% forex markup, 8 domestic lounge visits, quarterly golf and Air India 1:1 point transfers.
The IndusInd Bank Tiger Credit Card is one of the few genuinely lifetime free cards in India that carries benefits usually reserved for cards charging ₹2,500 or more. Issued in partnership with Tiger Fintech Private Limited, a Bajaj Capital Group company, it earns nothing spectacular at low spends but climbs steeply as your annual spending grows. It suits a disciplined high spender who wants lounge access, cheap forex and Air India points without paying a rupee in fees.

- Age: 18 years and above (commonly cited upper bound of 75 years).
- Residency: Indian resident.
- Income: IndusInd Bank does not publish a minimum income threshold for this card. Approval rests on a stable source of income and the bank's internal credit assessment, including your credit bureau record.
- Documents: identity proof, address proof and income proof as required at application.
Welcome Benefit
There is no welcome benefit on this card. IndusInd Bank offers no sign-up voucher, no bonus Reward Points and no first-transaction gift on the Tiger Credit Card. The card's proposition is the ongoing benefit set rather than an upfront sweetener — which is consistent with it being lifetime free.
Reward Structure: How You Earn
The Tiger Credit Card runs what IndusInd calls the Magnificent Rewards programme. Unlike most Indian credit cards, it does not accelerate by category. Instead, the earn rate rises in slabs as your cumulative spending in the card anniversary year grows, and the slabs are marginal — each rate applies only to the spending that falls inside its band, not retrospectively to everything you spent before.
| Cumulative anniversary-year spend | Reward multiplier | Effective rate at ₹0.40 per point |
|---|---|---|
| Up to ₹1,00,000 | 1 RP per ₹100 | 0.4% |
| ₹1,00,001 – ₹2,50,000 | 2 RP per ₹100 | 0.8% |
| ₹2,50,001 – ₹5,00,000 | 4 RP per ₹100 | 1.6% |
| Above ₹5,00,000 | 6 RP per ₹100 | 2.4% |
Slabs reset at every card anniversary. There is no cap on the number of Reward Points you can earn.
Worked example from the official Benefit Guide
IndusInd's own illustration assumes ₹6,00,000 of spending in a card anniversary year:
| Spend in slab | Multiplier | Reward Points earned |
|---|---|---|
| ₹1,00,000 | 1 | 1,000 |
| ₹1,50,000 | 2 | 3,000 |
| ₹2,50,000 | 4 | 10,000 |
| ₹1,00,000 | 6 | 6,000 |
| **₹6,00,000** | — | **20,000** |
Those 20,000 Reward Points are worth ₹8,000 as cash credit against your outstanding, giving a blended return of about 1.33% on ₹6 lakh of spending. Transferred to Air India Maharaja Club at 1:1, the same 20,000 points become 20,000 Maharaja Points, which is where the card's real value sits for anyone who flies Air India.
Redemption options
- Cash credit against your card outstanding at 1 RP = ₹0.40. Capped at 5,000 Reward Points per calendar month with effect from 1 September 2024, and a ₹149 cash redemption fee applies.
- Air India Maharaja Club at 1 RP = 1 Maharaja Point, live since 1 June 2026. Minimum 500 points per transfer.
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer at 400 RP = 100 KrisFlyer miles, capped at 10,000 RP per calendar month.
- Vouchers and catalogue on IndusMoments — Oberoi, Luxe and e-vouchers across shopping, travel, dining and entertainment, at ₹0.40 per point.
- Twid – Pay with Rewards at partner merchants, which carries a 5% + GST fee capped at ₹100 + GST.
Reward Points are valid for 24 months from the date of accrual. Club Vistara redemption was discontinued from 31 October 2024 and InterMiles from 21 January 2025.
Other Benefits
Airport lounges. Two complimentary domestic lounge visits per calendar quarter — eight a year — with no spend condition attached. Internationally, you get a complimentary Priority Pass membership with two complimentary visits per year across 600+ lounges worldwide. Beyond the free visits, Priority Pass usage is billed to your card at up to US$35 per person per visit.
Golf. One complimentary golf game or lesson per calendar quarter, four a year, booked through the IndusInd Bank Golf Program portal run by Apexlynx. Notably, the ₹25,000 previous-statement spend condition that gates golf on other IndusInd variants does not apply to Tiger cardholders. Bookings must be placed at least four days and at most fifteen days ahead, games and lessons count against the same quota, unused entitlement does not carry forward, and only primary cardholders qualify — add-on holders are treated as guests. The golf grid was last revised effective 10 March 2026.
Movies. One fully complimentary BookMyShow ticket worth up to ₹500 every six months in a calendar year, so two a year. The windows are April–September and October–March. This is not a buy-one-get-one offer. Anything above ₹500 and the internet handling fee come out of your pocket, bookings must go through the BookMyShow website or app rather than individual cinema sites, and free tickets are released on a first-come-first-served daily allocation. The offer runs till 31 March 2027.
Forex. A 1.5% foreign currency markup plus GST, against the 3.5% that most Indian cards charge. On ₹1,00,000 of international spending that is a saving of roughly ₹2,360 including GST. Note the separate dynamic currency conversion markup of 2% + GST that applies from 15 June 2026 if you let an overseas terminal bill you in rupees — always choose to be billed in the local currency.
Fuel surcharge. A 1% surcharge waiver on fuel transactions between ₹400 and ₹4,000, with no cap per billing cycle, subject to a minimum waiver of ₹10. GST on the surcharge is borne by you. The Tiger card's ₹400 floor is lower than the ₹500 floor on most IndusInd variants.
Total Protect insurance. Cover for unauthorised transactions following loss or theft of the card, running from up to 48 hours before you report the loss, plus counterfeit card fraud cover. The sum insured equals your assigned credit limit rather than a fixed rupee figure, and the cover extends to add-on cards. Claims require an FIR with the local police and written confirmation to the bank.
Concierge and Auto Assist. A 24-hour concierge on 1860 267 7777 for travel, hotel, flight, car rental, event and gift arrangements, with no service fee beyond the actual cost of what you book. Auto Assist covers roadside repair, emergency fuel delivery up to 5 litres, flat tyre help, locksmith service, battery assistance and towing, available in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune.
Category Restrictions: Where You Won't Earn the Multiplier
IndusInd draws a careful distinction here, and it matters.
No Reward Points at all:
- Fuel transactions.
No accelerated Reward Points — these MCCs earn only the base 1 RP per ₹100 regardless of which slab you have reached:
- Utility bill payments
- Insurance premium
- Government services
- Educational institutes
- Real estate
- Rental payments
So if you have pushed your annual spending past ₹5 lakh and are earning 6X on retail, your electricity bill and your rent still earn 1X. Because these categories also carry transaction fees on this card, they are actively worth routing elsewhere.
A further practical restriction: the Tiger Credit Card is a Visa product, and credit-card-on-UPI in India is supported only on RuPay credit cards. You cannot link this card to UPI at all.

Is the IndusInd Bank Tiger Credit Card Worth It?
For a card that costs nothing to hold, the answer is usually yes — but the reasoning has changed. Until mid-2026 the Tiger was a fading proposition, and the honest assessment at 0.4% base earning was that most cardholders would never reach the slabs where it got interesting. The 1:1 Air India Maharaja Club transfer that went live on 1 June 2026 reset that calculation. At the top slab you are collecting 6 Maharaja Points per ₹100 on a free card, which is a rate that premium cards charging five-figure fees struggle to beat for Air India specifically.
The catch is the slab structure itself. If you spend ₹2 lakh a year on this card, you will earn about ₹1,200 in points — a blended 0.6%, which is worse than any decent flat-rate cashback card. The economics only work if the Tiger is your primary card and you genuinely push past ₹5 lakh of eligible spending. Splitting spends across four cards guarantees you stay stuck in the 1X and 2X bands.
It suits high spenders who will consolidate onto one card, frequent international travellers who value the 1.5% forex markup, Air India and Air India Express flyers, and anyone who wants eight lounge visits and four golf rounds a year without an annual fee. It does not suit low or moderate spenders, anyone whose spending is concentrated in rent, utilities, insurance or education, or people who want a simple predictable cashback rate. Cardholders should also note that this is a reward currency with a ₹0.40 floor and a 5,000-point monthly cash redemption cap — if you plan to redeem for cash rather than miles, the card is distinctly ordinary.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is the IndusInd Bank Tiger Credit Card really lifetime free? Yes. The joining fee, annual fee and add-on card fee are all nil, and there is no spend-based waiver condition to meet. This is confirmed in both the card-specific MITC and IndusInd's consolidated premium MITC.
How does the reward slab system actually work? The slabs are marginal, not retrospective. Your first ₹1,00,000 of anniversary-year spending earns 1 point per ₹100 no matter how much you eventually spend. Crossing ₹5 lakh does not upgrade your earlier spending to 6X; it only applies 6X to the rupees above ₹5 lakh.
What is one Reward Point worth? ₹0.40 when redeemed as cash credit against your outstanding or against the IndusMoments catalogue. If you transfer to Air India Maharaja Club at 1:1, the value depends on how you redeem those Maharaja Points and can be considerably higher.
Can I transfer points to Air India? Yes, at 1 Reward Point = 1 Maharaja Point, live since 1 June 2026, with a minimum of 500 points per transfer. This is currently the card's strongest redemption route.
Which spends earn no Reward Points? Only fuel earns nothing at all. Utility bills, insurance premiums, government services, educational institutes, real estate and rental payments earn the base 1 point per ₹100 but are excluded from the accelerated multiplier.
Can I use this card for UPI payments? No. The Tiger Credit Card runs on Visa, and credit-card-on-UPI in India is available only on RuPay credit cards.
How many lounge visits do I get? Two domestic visits per calendar quarter, which is eight a year, plus two international visits a year through the complimentary Priority Pass membership. There is no spend condition.
Do I need to spend anything to get the golf benefit? No. The IndusInd Bank Golf Program normally requires ₹25,000 of retail spends in your last generated statement, but the golf terms explicitly state there is no minimum purchase or spend criteria for Tiger cardholders.
How does the BookMyShow movie benefit work? You get one fully complimentary ticket worth up to ₹500 in each six-month window, April–September and October–March. It is not a buy-one-get-one offer. Book on the BookMyShow website or app, not through individual cinema sites.
Is there a cap on how many Reward Points I can earn? No. IndusInd states there is no cap on points earned. There is, however, a cap on redemption — a maximum of 5,000 Reward Points can be redeemed for cash per calendar month, and 10,000 points per month for KrisFlyer miles.
When do my Reward Points expire? Twenty-four months from the date of accrual.
What is the fuel surcharge waiver on this card? A 1% waiver on fuel transactions between ₹400 and ₹4,000, with no cap in a billing cycle. Note separately that from 15 June 2026 a 1% + GST fee applies on cumulative fuel spends above ₹50,000 in a statement cycle.
