Kotak Corporate Gold Credit Card Review 2026: Expense Management, Travel Insurance, Fees & FAQs
The Kotak Corporate Gold is a corporate travel-and-entertainment card issued to companies, not to individuals. One credit limit is assigned to the company and divided among employees; spending is billed on a consolidated statement and settled by the employer in a single payment.
Before anything else, the honest caveat: Kotak does not publish a reward rate for this card. The page promises "Higher reward point earnings" and says points can be redeemed quarterly with a cash rebate paid by demand draft. It never says how many points, or what a point is worth. That is not an oversight in the marketing — the corporate MITC says the incentive programme is negotiated with each company individually. If you are evaluating this card, the earn rate is something your relationship manager quotes you, not something you can look up.

A naming problem you should know about
The product page sits at corporate-gold-card.html and is titled "Kotak Corporate Gold Card". The fees table that page serves has columns headed "Corporate Classic" and "Corporate Basic" — there is no Corporate Gold column anywhere on it.
The corporate MITC matches the fees page, not the product page: it lists "Basic Corporate Credit Card (CCCL)" at nil joining and nil annual, and "Classic Corporate Credit Card (CCCL)" at nil joining and ₹1,000 annual. There is no Gold row in the MITC either.
The most sensible reading is that Corporate Gold is the customer-facing name for the Classic and Basic corporate pair. This review uses the paid Classic figures, because the fuel and railway waivers the Gold page advertises match the Classic column and not the Basic one.
The practical consequence: if your company is put on the free Corporate Basic variant, the fees schedule shows the fuel surcharge as "Applicable" rather than "Waived" — so the fuel benefit on the page does not apply to you. Ask which variant you are being issued.
What the card actually does
Strip away the rewards question and this is an expense-management product. What it gives a company:
One limit, divided by you. A single company limit is assigned, and the corporate decides how much each employee gets — by hierarchy, by designation, or however it chooses.
Consolidated billing. One payment covers every employee card. No individual employee has to pay anything, chase reimbursements, or worry about late fees.
Spend analytics. Vendor-wise tracking, employee-wise breakdown, and statistical data for analysis. You can see which employee spent where and how much, and budget against it.
Real-time alerts. Free SMS and email alerts on every transaction.
A named service manager, plus a Program Administrator who acts as the single point of contact between the company and Kotak for payment due dates, totals, damaged or lost cards.
No forex to carry. Employees travelling on business use the card rather than drawing foreign currency, and keep no vouchers or receipts for the purpose of reimbursement.
Free card replacement. Call and replace a damaged, lost or stolen card at any time, at no charge.
Rewards: what is and isn't known
What Kotak states on the page:
- "Higher reward point earnings"
- Points can be redeemed every quarter
- Redemption is by calling the customer service desk
- Cash rebate is given through a demand draft
What the corporate MITC adds:
- Clause 7.1: the Incentive Program is made available "at the exclusive discretion of the Kotak Bank, and may vary from Card to Card". The rate, the qualifying spends and the posting method are communicated to the corporate by the Commercial Card Relationship Manager by email.
- Clause 7.3.13: the incentive is paid to the corporate, by funds transfer, NEFT or RTGS.
- Clause 7.3.21: reward points expire two years from the date earned. No prior intimation is sent, though business card customers get an SMS five days before expiry.
What is never stated anywhere: points per ₹100, the rupee value of a point, any accelerated categories, any caps, or any MCC exclusion list.
Conditions that can wipe out the incentive
These have no parallel on a retail card and are worth reading before a company commits:
- Forfeited if the corporate has a delinquent card account at the start of the programme, or if any account becomes delinquent during it
- Not paid for a year in which the Commercial Card Program is not renewed
- Nullified if Kotak itself closes the programme or the card account
- Clause 7.3.10: if the client does not upload invoices and Kotak cannot claim input credit, the bank may recover from future incentive or close the cards
An employee optimising personal spend on this card is, in any case, earning for their employer.
Surcharge Waivers
Fuel: 1% waived on transactions between ₹500 and ₹3,000, capped at ₹3,500 in a calendar year, at petrol pumps across India. Available on the paid Corporate Classic variant; the fees schedule shows it as applicable — that is, charged — on the free Corporate Basic variant.
Railway: waived, capped at ₹500 in a calendar year.

| Interest-free period | Up to 48 days |
| **Minimum amount due** | **20% of the statement outstanding** |
| **Cash withdrawal** | **Not active** — ATM withdrawal, call-a-draft, fund transfer and cash advance all show NA |

| Balance enquiry at non-parent ATM | **Waived** |
| WebPay service fee | **Waived** |
| GST | Charged at the rates approved in the Finance Act on all interest, fees and charges |
Three observations.
The interest rate is genuinely better than the retail range — 39.60% against 45%. Most corporate cards are settled in full monthly, so it rarely matters, but it is there.
The minimum amount due is 20%, not the 1%-plus-charges formula Kotak uses on retail cards. On a corporate-liability card the company clears the full balance and this never bites. On an individual-liability variant it is a much steeper monthly obligation than a retail cardholder would expect.
The waived-fee list is unusually long. Card replacement, duplicate statements, charge-slip retrieval, outstation cheque processing, ATM machine surcharge, non-parent-bank balance enquiry and WebPay are all free. For a company issuing dozens of cards, those small charges add up — and here they are zero.
Note also what the corporate fees schedule does not list: the special-category transaction fees Kotak charges on retail cards for rent, wallet loading, utilities, education, government payments, fuel, transport and online gaming. Their absence is consistent with a card meant for business travel and entertainment rather than household bills — but it is an absence of information rather than a confirmed absence of charge.
Insurance
Seven covers, underwritten by Zurich Kotak Mahindra General Insurance:
| Cover | Sum insured |
|---|---|
| Card liability — lost card, counterfeit, skimming, phishing, online fraud | ₹50,000 |
| Flight delay of more than 6 hours | ₹10,000 |
| Carrier cancellation | ₹10,000 |
| Loss of checked-in baggage | ₹10,000 |
| Delay of checked-in baggage | ₹10,000 |
| Valuable documents cover | ₹10,000 |
| Missing a connecting international flight during transit | ₹10,000 |
Conditions: primary cardholder only; the card must have had at least one ATM, POS or e-commerce transaction in the 90 days before the loss; claim documents due within 60 days of intimation. General exclusions for gross negligence, deliberate breach of law and terrorism.
Lounge Access
The Corporate Gold page lists no airport lounge benefit — unlike the Corporate Platinum page, which states 2 accesses per calendar quarter.
Kotak's lounge terms do include a generic "Corporate" row in the domestic programme without saying which corporate card it means. Read against the two product pages, that row most likely refers to the Platinum. Treat lounge access on this card as unconfirmed, and ask.
How employees use it
Worth being clear about, because it differs from a personal card:
- The card is meant for official expenses. Kotak's FAQ notes you can use it for personal spend if your company's policy allows, but those spends appear on the consolidated corporate bill and have to be settled between you and your employer.
- You do not pay the bill. No late payment worries, no dues to chase — the corporate pays.
- Cash withdrawal is not active. There is no cash advance facility to misuse.
- The card is valid internationally, accepted at Visa merchants worldwide.
How to apply
Not through a website form. Kotak's FAQ directs companies to email the bank with:
- Name of the entity
- Name of a contact person
- Contact details
- Number of cards required
A sales representative then gets in touch.
Who Should Get the Kotak Corporate Gold Credit Card
Good fit if:
- Your company wants consolidated billing and employee-level spend visibility rather than a reimbursement process
- You have employees travelling on business who need a card and insurance cover but not a cash facility
- You value a clean fee schedule across a fleet of cards — replacements, duplicate statements and service fees are all free
- You are prepared to negotiate the incentive terms with a relationship manager rather than read them off a page
Look elsewhere if:
- You want a published, comparable reward rate — there isn't one
- You need airport lounge access — the Corporate Platinum publishes 2 per quarter, this card publishes nothing
- Your company would be placed on the free Corporate Basic variant and you were counting on the fuel waiver
- You are an individual looking for a business card — the Kotak Biz is the self-employed product, and it publishes its rates
