The Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME pays 25 Reward Points per ₹100 at Landmark Group stores — 6.25% — which is the highest single-category earn rate on any SBI card in this range. It costs ₹2,999 and returns 12,000 bonus Reward Points worth ₹3,000 every year, not just at joining.

There is no spend-based fee waiver on any Landmark card. The annual bonus is what replaces it — and at ₹3,000 against a ₹2,999 fee, it replaces it exactly.

Eligibility Criteria

SBI Card publishes no age or income threshold. Approval rests on its own assessment. Indian residency and a valid PAN are required. Add-on cards are free.

The Annual Bonus Replaces the Fee Waiver

There is no spend-based fee reversal on any Landmark card, and that is a finding rather than a gap — SBI's pages do not address it either way, and third-party databases confirm the absence.

What the card does instead is arguably better: 12,000 bonus Reward Points, worth ₹3,000, on payment of the annual fee — every year. SBI's wording is "on payment of annual fees", not "on joining".

At ₹3,000 against a ₹2,999 fee, the card is effectively free every year regardless of how much you spend. A conventional fee waiver at, say, ₹3 lakh would leave a lighter spender paying full price; this arrangement does not. For anyone who was never going to hit a reversal threshold, it is the better structure.

The 6.25% at Landmark Group

25 Reward Points per ₹100 at Landmark Group stores, online and in store — 6.25% at 4 points to the rupee, and uncapped.

The Landmark Group brands are Lifestyle, Max Fashion, Home Centre, EasyBuy, SPAR and Babyshop.

One practical note: comparison engines will understate this card at SPAR and Babyshop. Those two brands have no distinct merchant identity in the underlying data, so automated calculators score spend there at the 0.5% base rate rather than 6.25%. Lifestyle, Max Fashion, Home Centre and EasyBuy are recognised. The card pays correctly either way — the models do not.

**Dining, movies and international spends**10 RP per ₹100**2.5%****None**
Everything else2 RP per ₹100**0.5%****None**

No caps on any rate, which is unusual and genuinely valuable at a 6.25% headline.

The international element cannot be modelled. Geography is not a merchant category, so any calculator working from merchant codes will apply only the dining and movies legs of the 2.5% band — understating the card for anyone who spends abroad. Note too that the forex markup is 3.5%, so earning 2.5% on foreign spend still leaves you 1% down.

The exclusion list is wider than most SBI cards: fuel, rental, government spends, gaming, wallet loads and EMI all earn nothing.

Milestone

20,000 bonus Reward Points — ₹5,000 — at ₹5,00,000 of annual spend.

One rung, at about ₹42,000 a month. Combined with the ₹3,000 annual bonus, a cardholder clearing ₹5 lakh takes ₹8,000 in fixed benefits before the earn rate.

Lounge Access

  • 8 complimentary domestic airport lounge visits a year, maximum 2 per quarter
  • 4 complimentary international visits a year, on a complimentary Priority Pass membership worth US$99

That is a full travel package on a retail co-brand, and it is the main thing the PRIME adds over the SELECT beyond the higher Landmark rate.

Worked Example

Illustrative, at ₹45,000 a month — ₹5.4 lakh a year, clearing the milestone:

CategoryMonthly spendRatePointsValue
Lifestyle, Max, Home Centre₹10,0006.25%2,500₹625
Dining and movies₹6,0002.5%600₹150
Everything else₹26,0000.5%520₹130
Fuel, rent, wallet₹3,0000%0₹0
**Monthly total****₹45,000****3,620****₹905 — 2.01%**

Annual tally:

Reward Points earned₹10,860
Annual bonus points (every year)₹3,000
Milestone at ₹5 lakh₹5,000
**Total****₹18,860**
Annual fee₹2,999
**Net****₹15,861 — 2.94% of spend**

Plus 8 domestic and 4 international lounge visits, not counted.

Note the Landmark leg carries the card: ₹7,500 of the ₹10,860 earned comes from ₹1.2 lakh of Landmark spend. Strip that out and the card returns about ₹3,360 on ₹4.2 lakh — 0.8%, which the annual bonus still rescues but which does not justify ₹2,999 on its own.

Where You Won't Earn

SBI names the exclusions: fuel, rental, government spends, gaming, wallet and EMI, plus cash advances.

The fuel surcharge waiver is the whole fuel benefit: 1% reversed on transactions between ₹500 and ₹3,000, capped at ₹100 per statement cycle.

SBI's range-wide transaction fees apply: ₹199 per rent payment, 1% on wallet loads above ₹1,000, 1% on utility payments once the cycle total passes ₹50,000, and 1% on education payments through third-party apps. Rent and wallet loads are *excluded from rewards and carry their own fee*.

The PRIME's dining band and base rate are identical to the SELECT's. The entire step from ₹1,499 to ₹2,999 buys the higher Landmark rate (3.75% → 6.25%), a bigger milestone and international lounge access.

Break-even on the ₹1,500 fee difference, ignoring the lounges: ₹1,500 ÷ 2.5 percentage points = ₹60,000 of annual Landmark Group spend. Above that, the PRIME wins; below it, take the SELECT.

Is the Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME Worth It?

Yes, if you spend ₹60,000+ a year at Landmark Group stores. 6.25% uncapped is the highest single-category rate in SBI's range, and it is not close.

Yes, because the annual bonus makes it effectively free. ₹3,000 of points against a ₹2,999 fee, every year, on payment alone — no spend threshold to clear.

Yes, if you want lounge access on a retail card. Eight domestic and four international visits is unusual for a co-brand.

No, if you rarely shop at Lifestyle, Max or Home Centre. The 0.5% base rate is weak, and the card is single-purpose by design.

Watch the international band. 2.5% earned against a 3.5% forex markup still leaves you down on foreign spend.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the annual fee of the Landmark Rewards SBI Card PRIME? ₹2,999 plus GST, on joining and renewal. There is no spend-based fee reversal — but 12,000 bonus Reward Points worth ₹3,000 are credited on payment of the fee every year, which covers it.

What is the reward rate at Landmark Group stores? 25 Reward Points per ₹100 — 6.25% at 4 points to the rupee, uncapped. It applies online and in store.

Which brands count as Landmark Group? Lifestyle, Max Fashion, Home Centre, EasyBuy, SPAR and Babyshop. Note that comparison tools may not recognise SPAR and Babyshop and will understate the card there.

Do the bonus points recur every year? Yes. SBI's wording is "on payment of annual fees", so the 12,000 points arrive on every renewal, not only at joining. That is what stands in for a fee waiver on this card.

Are the rates capped? No. SBI publishes no cap on any of the three rates.

How many lounge visits do I get? Eight domestic a year, maximum two per quarter, plus four international a year on a complimentary Priority Pass membership worth US$99.

Is the PRIME worth ₹1,500 more than the SELECT? Its dining band and base rate are identical to the SELECT's — the step up buys the higher Landmark rate, a bigger milestone and international lounge access. Break-even on the Landmark rate alone is about ₹60,000 of annual Landmark Group spend.

What is excluded from rewards? Fuel, rental, government spends, gaming, wallet loads and EMI, plus cash advances.
