Reward Structure: How You Earn
ICICI does not publish what a Reward Point is worth. Not in its Most Important Terms, not in the card terms, and not on its own rewards page, which lists redemption categories without a single conversion rate. This review uses ₹0.25, the third-party consensus for statement-credit and catalogue redemption. Every percentage below therefore rests on a figure the bank itself will not state — treat them as indicative, not exact.
2 Reward Points per ₹100 on domestic spends — about 0.5%. 4 per ₹100 on international — about 1%. 1 per ₹100 on utility and insurance.
From 15 January 2026 fuel and e-wallet loads earn nothing on ICICI cards. The Parakram cards are the only exception on fuel; the Amazon Pay card the only exception on wallets. New fees arrived the same day: 1% on wallet loads of ₹5,000 or more, 2% on skill-based gaming, 1% on transportation above ₹50,000, and ₹3,500 one-time for every new add-on card.
| Spend | Effective rate |
|---|---|
| International spends | **1.0%** |
| Everything else | 0.5% |
| Fuel, rent, wallet loads, government, gaming | **0%** |
The caps that actually bind
Headline rates mean little until you know where they stop. These are the limits on this card:
| Cap | Limit |
|---|---|
| Utility | 80,000 points per calendar month |
| Insurance | 80,000 points per calendar month |
| Grocery | 40,000 points per calendar month |
| Transport | 20,000 points per calendar month |
From 1 February 2026 ICICI caps rewards by a SPEND ceiling, not a points ceiling. That distinction matters: once you pass the ceiling in a capped category, further spending in it earns nothing at all that cycle, rather than dropping to a lower rate. Grocery, utility, insurance, education and transportation are all capped this way, at levels set by card tier.
On this card's premium tier the ceilings are ₹80,000 of utility, ₹80,000 of insurance, ₹40,000 of grocery and ₹20,000 of transportation per statement cycle.
Transportation is penalised twice. Rewards stop at ₹20,000 of transport spend a cycle, and above ₹50,000 a 1% fee applies — so railways, buses, taxis and tolls are a category to keep off this card entirely.
The BookMyShow buy-one-get-one is now spend-gated — it requires ₹25,000 of spend in the previous calendar quarter, where it used to be unconditional. A new cardholder gets nothing in their first quarter.

Is the ICICI Bank Rubyx Credit Card Worth It?
The milestone ladder is the strongest feature. 3,000 Reward Points at ₹300,000 of spend, then 1,500 for every further ₹1 lakh, to 15,000 points — about ₹3,750 a year against a ₹3,000 fee.
The international rate only helps if you spend abroad. No structured comparison can model 'international' as a category, so expect tools to show this card at its 0.5% domestic rate.
Against Coral at a sixth of the fee, Rubyx adds the doubled international rate, a bigger lounge allowance and a larger milestone ladder. On domestic spending alone the two earn identically.
Milestone and welcome benefits are released only after the fee has actually been paid. If your annual fee is waived, you forfeit them. Rent, government and education spends also do not count toward either the fee waiver or the milestones.
